This battery housing was specifically developed at the request of a well known oceanographic research center as part of an open source underwater time-lapse system. While it was developed to automate the quantification of plankton, there is a myriad of applications.
The system consists of three main parts: the See Star Project Camera Housing , the See Star LED Housing, and See Star Battery Housing. Both the Camera and the LED modules can be found under "Camera Housings" and "General Housings" respectively in our catalogue.
The See Star Battery housing is :
•Certified to a depth of 4,900ft (1500m, 151 BAR ), or 2,200 PSI (152 Kg/cm2)
•Deep enough to accommodate the required battery pack
•One 7/16th" 20 thread hole in the back end cap for the SubConn connector
•Fully anodized. High resistance against the corrosive effect of saltwater
•Weight: 1.65 lb (725 gr)

The GPH-1750m is an aluminum underwater housing that is extremely versatile. Rated to a depth of 1750m (5,700ft), this canister is 7.4" long (18.8cm). The outside diameter is 3" (7.6cm). The GPH offers a 58"x2.5" (14.8cm x 6.3cm) internal space area that can be used for streamlined POV cameras such as Sony, JVC, Drift, Contour, Bullet, etc. This housing features an acrylic lens.
